In November 2020, 16 Swiss private investors founded SwissFactory.Group AG, headquartered in Neuenegg/Bern. The aim of SwissFactory.Group is to use new cooperation models, state-of-the-art technologies, and digital networking to prevent further relocation of industrial production capacities to Southern and Eastern Europe and also to bring orders that have already been “lost” back to Switzerland — for example to Neuenegg.
There are around 3000 contract manufacturers in Switzerland, who often produce parts for larger industrial companies under high price pressure. The Covid 19 crisis has further worsened their difficult situation. At the same time, Swiss Factory is a new provider. He relies heavily on robotization.
“The Swiss contract manufacturer SwissFactory.Group has introduced new structures and, in particular, greatly modernized the sheet metal processing division of its subsidiary Stoppani Metal Systems. Now the implementation of a “Dual Factory” is desired, where people work during the day and the machines work at night. This digital factory is to produce fully automatically and autonomously — in order to guarantee Stoppani international competitiveness. Bystronic was the only supplier able to meet the requirements.”
